Kate Upton Confirms Engagement To Justin Verlander At Met Gala

Kate Upton put her engagement ring on display at the 2016 Met Gala, where she revealed that her longtime boyfriend Justin Verlander had finally proposed.

Upton arrived at the Met Gala in a bespoke corseted Topshop gown with metallic sequins – but it was the rock on her left-hand ring finger that caught everyone’s attention. While walking the red carpet, Upton put her new ring on display, and confirmed that she had recently become engaged to her baseball player beau Verlander.

“I’m really excited, he asked me right before season started so we’ve been keeping it on the down low for quite a while,” Upton told E! News. “So I’m excited to finally be able to share it with the world!”

Asked whether or not wedding plans are underway, Upton suggested that they were in no rush. “We are enjoying the engagement period,” she said.

Upton and Verlander have been together for more than three years, and the model believes that communication is the key to their success as a couple.

“For us, we always try and work on our communication,” she told E!. “We’re very open with one another and we’re each others best friends. He’s definitely my best friend, so I think that helps a lot.”
