Prince William won't be the only one surprised when he sees his bride-to-be, Kate Middleton, walk down the aisle in her wedding dress at Westminster Abbey tomorrow. The gown's design is top secret information, with many royal insiders not even allowed to know the identity of the lucky designer.
Frontrunner Bruce Oldfield, who designed clothing for Princess Diana, as well as many Hollywood A-listers, couldn't stand all the speculation. "It has been such a subject of rumour and speculation over the past months, but I am not designing it," Oldfield told Vogue UK, much to the chagrin of thousands of people who placed large bets on the British designer. "We will all know tomorrow — and I thought I'd duck out of the 'possibles list' to give everyone 24 hours to place their final bets!"
Top names that are still bouncing around include Sarah Burton, designing under the Alexander McQueen label, and the relatively unknown Sophie Cranston of Libelula. Daniella Helayel, who created Middleton's engagement outfit, has been invited to tomorrow's ceremony, leading many to believe that she may have also designed the wedding dress.
As for Middleton's hairstyle for the event, stylist James Pryce is less tight-lipped. He described the look he intends for Middleton as "natural," in the UK's Daily Mail. —KIMBERLY STEELE
