Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, visited the Windsor Farm Shop, a five-minute drive from Windsor Castle. However, no photos of the couple were taken, leading to more conspiracy theories about her health.
Witnesses told reporters that Middleton and Prince William stopped by the shop after watching their three children play sports.
The sighting alleviated some concerns about Middleton after her abdominal surgery in January. Middleton has not made a public appearance since the operation. The Princess’ last public outing was in December at Christmas.
“After all the rumors that had been going ’round, I was stunned to see them there,” said one onlooker told The Sun. “Kate was out shopping with William, and she looked happy and she looked well.”
The lack of public appearances from Middleton raised concerns about her health. An edited image of Middleton and her children shared for U.K. Mother’s Day continued to fuel these rumors.
Middleton apologized for the error in a social media post, writing, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C,” signing off with “C” for “Catherine.”
Middleton does not have plans to return to public life until after Easter once she makes a full recovery.
