Kate McKinnon Sings ‘Hallelujah’ As Hillary Clinton On ‘SNL’

Kate McKinnon, who played Hillary Clinton in many SNL parodies, took the show’s stage this week with a more serious message.

McKinnon donned her usual Clinton outfit and sat at a piano to sing ‘Hallelujah.’ The song was both a homage to the great singer Leonard Cohen, who recently passed away, and a comment on the U.S. presidential election.

The episode was dubbed “Election Week Cold Open,” and with it SNL deviated from their lighthearted tone. McKinnon’s performance was dramatic and she ended it with the words: “I haven’t given up, and neither should you.”
