On October 2, Kate Hudson welcomed her first daughter Rani Rose.
On Wednesday, the actress shared the news of Rani’s birth in an Instagram post. In the post, Hudson explained that she and her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa chose the name Rani, pronounced like “Ronnie,” to honor Danny’s dad, Ron Fujikawa.

The Mother’s Day actress also wrote, “everyone is doing well and happy as can be.”
Rani Rose is Hudson and Fujikawa’s first child together, but Hudson also has two sons, 14-year-old Ryder with ex-husband and singer Chris Robinson and 7-year-old Bingham with singer Matthew Bellamy.
Earlier this year when Hudson spoke about her third pregnancy, which caught thousands of her fans off guard, she said, “I don’t feel any differently, but I’m excited that we’re going to even out the gender ratio in the house.”
