Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy have called off their three and a half year engagement.
Hudson, 35, and Bellamy, 36, have apparently been broken up for awhile, but have been amically co-parenting their 3-year-old son Bingham Hawn Bellamy.
“Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now,” Hudson’s rep told People magazine. “Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents.”
Hudson and Bellamy, who became engaged in 2011, were never in any rush to walk down the aisle.
“My parents aren’t married,” Hudson explained to Women’s Health. “And one of the reasons why they never got married is because they had been married before and they liked it the way it was. They didn’t feel like they needed a piece of paper to be committed.”
She added, “So for me, I know that marriage is not a golden ticket.”
Hudson was previously married to Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson, with whom she has son Ryder, 10. It’s been rumored that she’s already moved on from her split from Bellamy with Dancing with the Stars‘ pro Derek Hough.
