‘Karate Kid’ Actor Robert Garrison Dies At 59
Robert Garrison, the actor best known for his role in The Karate Kid, has died at the age of 59.
According to his family members Garrison’s death was not sudden, he had been in hospital over a month and dealing with kidney and liver issues. After a long battle, his organs shut down and the actor passed away on Friday morning at a hospital in West Virginia.

Garrison started his career as a child actor in the late ’70s before landing his major acting gig in the popular karate movie where he appeared as Tommy, the wicked Cobra Kai member. “Get him a body bag! Yeah!” Here is Tommy’s famous line in the movie.
Karate Kid‘s actor William Zabka shared his heartfelt tribute to his friend. “Rob and I met when we were auditioning for “Karate Kid.” We instantly connected and became friends while filming the movie. Our friendship grew stronger over the many years since then,” Zabka said. “Rob was a true thespian — an “actors actor.” Working with him was always natural and effortless. He elevated every scene and moment inside of them. Outside of acting, he was one of the most selfless and wonderful human beings I’ve ever known and I will miss him immensely.”

Garrison is survived by his brother, Patrick, and sister-in-law, Linda.
