Kanye West’s presidential campaign treasurer, Patrick Krason, resigned charging that the campaign made “unlawful” transactions.
Krason wrote two letters for his resignation on Monday. One letter informed the Federal Election Commission of his resignation as West’s treasurer. The other letter, addressed to West, accuses Milo Yiannopoulos, a top campaign advisor, of having possibly violated federal financial laws.
Krason wrote in the letter to West that Yiannopoulos “submitted falsified invoices and for expenditures that would be deemed unlawful” in November 2022. Krason also noted that he learned of a “potentially serious criminal transaction” that was made during the Kanye 2020 campaign.
Also in the letter to West, Krason referenced an expense for a digital asset where Yiannopoulos asked for reimbursement from both the Kanye 2020 campaign and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s campaign.
Yiannopoulos has since denied the allegations made against him.
In that same letter, Krason also claimed that Yiannopoulos was going to terminate him but resigned before Yiannopoulos was given the opportunity to do so. Krason also wrote that there was too much “personal animosity” to work professionally with Yiannopoulos.
Although currently unofficial, there are talks of West’s potential return as a candidate in the 2024 presidential election. West even asked former President Donald Trump to be his vice presidential running mate.
