A recent legal affidavit filed by Milo Yiannopoulos, Kanye West‘s former chief of staff, has raised serious allegations against West’s dentist, Thomas P. Connelly.

According to the affidavit, Yiannopoulos claims that Connelly has actively supplied and encouraged West’s use of nitrous oxide, or “laughing gas,” despite being aware of West’s psychological vulnerabilities and the potential for exploitation.

The affidavit alleges that Connelly continued to provide the gas to West even after the occurrence of “distressing symptoms” that led to concern. It is further claimed that Connelly charged West more than $50,000 per month for this service and provided instruction on the operation of the nitrous gas canisters, which were left in West’s home.

Yiannopoulos, 37, who quit his work for West after two years in May, stated that he believes Connelly was “fraudulent” in taking millions of dollars from a patient he knew to be “in a confused, dependent, weakened and addicted state.” The affidavit also suggested that Connelly moved into West’s apartment building, at West’s expense, to maintain closer supervision over him.

These allegations come at a time when West’s career has imploded for a variety of reasons. The initial cause of the backlash was in response to his anti-Semitic rhetoric, comments that led to various agencies, production companies and brands dropping him. West has been further condemned for his sexist, racist and violent behavior in his relationship, the workplace and to his fans. Yiannopoulos claimed that the symptoms of West’s “widely-reported bipolar diagnosis and the side effects of prolonged nitrous gas abuse are strikingly similar,” such as “erratic behavior, mood swings, paranoia and violence.”

Yiannopoulos said the affidavit was in tandem with a complaint he filed with the California Dental Board that accuses Connelly of “reckless, unethical, dishonest, explorative and, upon information and belief, illegal conduct.” All materials have been forwarded to the Attorney General’s office and the FBI.

Constantly embroiled in controversy, West faces a lawsuit over forced labor violations and the creation of a hostile work environment for employees. He has also received backlash for alleged sexual harassment from his former personal assistant and has been scrutinized for his alleged controlling relationship with his wife Bianca Censori.
