Kanye West has reportedly spent more than $3.5 million in an attempt to get onto ballots for the upcoming presidential election in 12 states.
West has paid a petitioning group called Let The Voters Decide somewhere between $3.5 and $4.5 million to get on the ballot in 15 states. The money has gone to workers who are tasked with getting signatures. A source from Let The Voters Decide told TMZ that West was not allowed on the ballot in three states, despite paying $1 million to get 93,000 signatures to get on the ballot in Arizona, $325,000 to get on the ballot in Ohio and $300,000 to get on the ballot in Virginia.
Included in the 12 states where West was allowed on that ballot are Kentucky, where the artist spent $400,000, and Iowa, where the artist spent $80,000.
Even if West were able to win the states in which he is on the ballot, he would not have enough votes in the electoral college to win the presidency.
West has also reportedly loaned $6.8 million of his own money on his campaign since July, according to financial filings with the Federal Election Commission.
And, earlier this month West told the New York Times that he plans to run for president again in 2024.
