Kanye West has officially canceled the rest of his Saint Pablo tour after his latest on-stage rant.
On Sunday, West arrived over an hour late to his show, performed just three songs, and ranted about politics and race relations and himself before dropping the mic and walking off stage. Those in attendance were understandable annoyed.
Police responded to an afternoon call about a disturbance, but upon arrival they realized it was a medical call. According to NBC, police also responded to a medical welfare check late Monday night. A source tells that Kanye “was not restrained” and “went freely.”
“He is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation,” the source continued. “He went to the hospital at will and under the advice of his physician. He’s fine.”
Kim Kardashian West did not attend the Angel Ball in New York City like she had planned because of the hospitalization. It would have been her first public appearance since her robbery in Paris in October.
A rep for the rapper confirmed that tickets for the remaining concerts will be fully refunded.
Amid rumors of a mental breakdown, the source shut down these ideas. “It’s nothing like that, he’s just exhausted,” the source said. “He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and the Adidas line. He’s a notorious workaholic, so balancing both that work – which is extremely important to him – and the rigors of the tour every night, it really wore him out.”
