English comedian Simon Brodkin, who performs as the character Lee Nelson for his stand-up routine, rushed the stage during Kanye West‘s set at the Glastonbury Festival in Worthy Farm, England, on Saturday. The comedian got on the Pyramid Stage while the rapper was performing “Black Skinhead” from the album “Yeezuz” which was released in 2013. West continued rapping briefly, then stopped to alert the security guards to remove Brodkin. After Brodkin was removed, West started the song over.
Brodkin, as his character Nelson, tweeted about his decision to interrupt West’s performance, saying that it was in response to a petition signed by almost 135,000 people demanding that the rapper be replaced by a rock band.
