Kanye West Apologizes For Antisemitic Comments Then Goes To A Lakers Game With A Sweatshirt Over His Head

On Christmas Day, Kanye West enjoyed the Lakers game with his wife, Bianca Censori, and his kids, North, Saint and Psalm West.

Notably, both West and Censori tried to maintain a low profile, which is evident by their attempts to conceal their heads with various garments.

Censori, an Australian designer, continued to don her notable oversized fur hat despite the warm temperatures, while West draped a blue sweatshirt over his head. Their three children embraced the festive atmosphere of the NBA game in Lakers-themed attire.

West’s attendance at the game took place shortly before he issued an apology in Hebrew to the Jewish community that addressed his “unintended” antisemitic remarks made at an event in Las Vegas earlier in the month.

In an Instagram post written in Hebrew, as translated by The Jerusalem Post, West claimed, “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for my unplanned outburst caused by my words or actions. It was not my intention to hurt or disrespect, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused.”

He continued, “I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future… Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity.”

West drew controversy last week after his antisemitic outburst at a Las Vegas listening party, in which he said, “It’s 60 million of us in America, 60 million Jews in the world,” and claimed Jewish people own all the hospitals and private schools in the United States. Jews, in fact, have a population of 15.7 million.

He additionally criticized wealthy individuals who enroll their children in “Zionist schools” and specifically mentioned his dissatisfaction with the private school attended by his own children.

“Jesus Christ, Hitler, Ye, third party — sponsor that,” he said to a small room crowded with supporters, “Bring your sponsorships to that.”

Lyrics in West’s latest performances of songs from his joint album with Ty Dolla Sign, Vultures, have also been criticized for antisemitic language.

West currently has an “alternative news” platform in the works, as a means to convey his message directly to the public and bypass the traditional media filter.
