Kanye West Abandons His $2.2 Million Calabasas, California, Ranch ‘To Rot’

New photos of Kanye West‘s $2.2 million ranch in Calabasas show the house looking completely abandoned.

The images portray the house as irreparable, with one featuring a large hole at the front entrance and debris scattered on the ground. West lived on the ranch with his then-model girlfriend, Irina Shayk.

The domes on the property were 50-foot “Yecosystems,” which the rapper constructed through the architecture branch of his Yeezy label, Yeezy Home, which launched in 2018. In an interview with Forbes a year later, he said the fictitious planet of Tatooine from Star Wars inspired the domes.

West bought the ranch when he married his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. Kardashian has remained in the couple’s $60 million compound with their four children after they split in 2021. 

During the divorce, Kardashian reportedly negotiated a buyout price with West to purchase the compound in Hidden Hills. In a November 2023 episode of her show, The Kardashians, the reality star revealed that West lived in an apartment without security, a chef or a nanny. 

The Calabasas ranch is one of many homes West has left in disrepair. In September 2021, he purchased a 4,000-square-foot oceanfront property in Malibu, but construction on the mansion stopped after West dissolved his construction company, which was handling the project due to financial problems resulting from his public antisemitic remarks.

The contractor claims that West ordered him to remove the windows and HVAC of the Malibu home to turn it into a “doomsday bunker.” The home is now on sale for $39 million after having price slashed by $14 million.

In April 2023, a neighbor told TMZ his Calabasas mansion was “left to rot,” and they had not “seen anyone around for many months.”
