Without a doubt, Kanye West was the talk of the 57^th Grammy Awards. After Beck won Album of the Year for his album Morning Phase over Beyoncé’s self-titled album, Kanye ran on stage and appeared to be ready to interrupt him as he famously did in 2009 to Taylor Swift at the MTV Music Awards. He then laughed it off and went off stage. Beck could be seen calling him back on stage, clearly aware of the jeers.

However, after the award show was over, West clearly was shown not to be all jokes as he went on a rant about why Beyoncé should have won. “You keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration,” Kanye said. “And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place. I’m not gonna do nothing to put my daughter at risk, but I am here to fight for creativity. That’s the reason why I didn’t say anything tonight, but you all know what it meant when Ye walked out on that stage!”

Still, Beck was the real winner of the night, and when interviewed after the hoopla was told Us Weekly : “I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody, I thought she was going to win. Come on, she’s Beyonce!”
