Kansas City Chiefs Stars Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce’s Mansions Robbed With $20,000 In Cash Stolen
The houses of Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were robbed last month.
On Oct. 6, police were called to Mahomes’ mansion just after midnight when a member of Mahomes’ security team reported a break-in. There were no signs of forced entry and it was unclear if anything was stolen. Mahomes’ house is 28 miles south of Kansas City.
The next day, on Oct. 7, at roughly 7:30 p.m., Kelce’s mansion in the Kansas City area was also broken into. The back door was damaged, and $20,000 cash was stolen. Kelce’s mansion is located ten miles north of Mahomes.
It is unknown if anyone was at Kelce or Mahomes’s houses at the time of the robberies. Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was in town for the Chiefs’ game, and the couple stayed at a downtown Kansas City hotel.
Other break-ins in the nearby area have prompted the incidents to come under investigation by the FBI alongside the police.
Mahomes reflected on the situation on Wednesday on ESPN, “Obviously it’s frustrating, it’s disappointing, but I mean I can’t get into too many of the details because the investigation’s still ongoing, but obviously something that you don’t want to happen to really anybody but obviously yourself.”
Kelce purchased his mansion in 2023 after he went public with his relationship with Swift. The three-acre property cost almost $6 million. Mahomes bought his home in 2020 after he signed his Chiefs contract. He and his wife had the mansion custom-built.
Mahomes football career has made him $182 million, but the bulk of his money he has earned through endorsement. Kelce’s off-field endeavors have similarly made him more money than his actual job on the field; he recently signed a podcast deal for over $100 million.
