Kaley Cuoco split from professional tennis player hubby Ryan Sweeting two months ago amid rumors that his alleged addiction to painkillers had driven a wedge between the two. The split not only left The Big Bang Theory star with a broken heart but also with a permanent reminder of the relationship inked on her skin – a tattoo on her back of the date on which they married.
Making light of the situation and giving a cautionary word of advice to any lovebirds thinking of getting similar tats in the future, Cuoco took to Instagram to reveal she’d covered the dates with a large butterfly tattoo.
Cuoco captioned the image, “Thank you @nero_sct@studiocitytattoo for helping me right my wrongs.. ?? note to self- do not mark your body with any future wedding dates ?”, using the hashtags #under30mistakes and #donttakeyourselftooseriouslykids to make light of the situation.
“The deep, meaningful, larger than life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink, is….. It covered the last one,” Cuoco joked, in a characteristically honest and self-deprecating post.
Cuoco announced her separation from Sweeting on Sept. 25 after 21 months of marriage. Sweeting subsequently filed a request for spousal support though as the two signed a prenuptial agreement it’s doubtful he will be entitled to any of the star’s estimated $45 million fortune.
In an Instagram post shared at the time of the split the star thanked fans for their continued support through the difficult transition and also expressed eagerness to move on with her life, writing:
“I’m feeling completely overwhelmed with the outpouring of kindness and support from the people that surround me and from those I have never even met. I want you to know, I read all your comments and your sweet words have touched me deeply. I’m incredibly grateful for all your love as I start this next chapter in my life.”
