Kaley Cuoco and her husband Ryan Sweeting are getting a divorce after almost two years of marriage.

Kaley Cuoco Splits From Husband Ryan Sweeting

Cuoco — who went by Cuoco-Sweeting soon after her New Year’s Eve wedding — confirmed the news that she and her tennis beau had decided to end their marriage on Friday, Sept. 25. A representative for the Big Bang Theory actress announced the news with a short statement, saying, “Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage. They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter.”

Cuoco and Sweeting married on Dec. 31, 2013, after only six months of dating. They were engaged within three months of their first date. “I admit it happened fast, but that’s who I am. When we met, I knew he was the one,” Cuoco told Cosmopolitan in April of 2014.

Fans hoping that the couple will reconcile might want to take a step back, if social media is any indication. After announcing the split, Cuoco deleted any and all mentions of Sweeting from her Instagram page, which used to be littered with declarations of love for her husband. Cuoco appears determined to keep her marriage out of the public eye, even retroactively. However, she did give a hint to her state of mind following the announcement, sharing a photo of one of her dogs lying down next to a class of rosé with the caption, “#mood.” Sweeting also reportedly deleted his Instagram page and blocked his Facebook.

Coincidentally, Cuoco’s character on The Big Bang Theory, Penny, recently got married on the season premiere of the hit sitcom.
