World’s smallest woman Jyoti Amge, who measures just 2’ 06’’ tall, has joined the cast of American Horror Story: Freak Show.
American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy posted a picture of the Indian-born Amge with AHS star Jessica Lange on Twitter Wednesday to break the news. “Jessica and our newest cast member Jyoti Amge… the world’s smallest woman,” Murphy wrote.
The Guinness Book of World Records deemed Amge, 20, the smallest living woman in the world in 2011. Her short stature is due to a genetic disorder called achondroplasia. Amge, who has previously shared her desire to get into acting, has not let her disorder hold her back in her ambitions. In 2009, she appeared in the British documentary Body Shock and was later a contestant on Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss, which has a similar format to Big Brother.
American Horror Story: Freak Show, the fourth installment of Murphy’s horror series, will center on a freak show in 1950s Florida. In addition to Lange, returning AHS favorites include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Gabourey Sidibe, Kathy Bates and Denis O’Hare.
