President Barack Obama, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, U.S. first lady Michelle Obama, and Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama put a video on Twitter warning the Royal Family to “be careful what you wish for,” regarding the second Invictus Games, after Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry told them “to bring it.” Then three men in uniform behind the Obamas dropped an imaginary mic.
The Royal Family put out a response video, with the Queen dismissively saying, “Oh really?” Harry then smirked at the camera before scoffing, “Boom,” and dropping a fake mic.
The fit Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau got in on the fun as well, releasing his own video. He had several members of Canada’s Invictus team behind him, while two of them were doing push-ups next to him. Mid push-up, Trudeau and the rest bellow out a boom, with three mic drops, two real and one not.
The Invictus Games will take place in Orlando from May 8 to 12. The one after will be next year in Toronto. The competition is partnered with the Wounded Warriors to honor veterans who risk their well-being to defend their respective countries.
Trudeau accompanied Harry as he attended the launch ceremony in Toronto.
He addressed the audience of veterans, their families and military servicemen and women. “2017 will be your chance, your opportunity to salute those that serve your country; to salute those that put themselves in harm’s way so you don’t have to,” Harry said.
