Justin Timberlake appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon yesterday and the pair did multiple skits displaying that they are, indeed, best buds.
In a recurring sketch, the two played their younger selves at Camp Winnipesaukee. They can’t sleep and decide to sing Alanis Morissette‘s 1995 hit “Ironic.” But each time they belt out the chorus, nerdy counselor Mr. Fletcher comes in to spoil their fun. He calls them “potato heads” and “party peanuts” and ends up taking away their “snack shack” privileges.
In one particularly cute moment, Timberlake leans toward Fallon in their beds and asks, “best friends forever?” to which Fallon confirms “best friends forever.”
Later in the show, during the interview segment, Fallon and Timberlake take the Best Friend Challenge, which Fallon has played with other guests on his show. These two, however, actually knew most of the answers. They took turns picking questions out a box, decorated with famous best friends, such as Monica and Rachel from Friends, and asked and answered them.
“Justin, what is our preferred mode of transportation when we’re hanging out outside of the show?” Fallon asks, stifling giggles. “I know this one,” Timberlake laughs along. “It’s so stupid too.” They both turn their papers to reveal tandem bikes.
The rest of the segment, which ends in a duet of a song called “Poop in a Jar,” is equally silly and equally fun.
