Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have both filed suit against Heat magazine in Ireland’s High Court in Dublin for defamation.
Timberlake and Biel, who are celebrating their two-year anniversary this month, are suing Heat publishers Bauer Consumer Media for defamation regarding an article published in September about the couple. The article reportedly featured images of Timberlake and a quote attributed to Biel, though the exact nature of the article is unclear.
“We have issued defamation proceedings on behalf of our clients. We are suing in Ireland in relation to publication in all jurisdictions, as our clients are entitled to do,” said international media lawyer Paul Tweed.
Tweed, who is representing Timberlake and Biel in this matter, told reporters he doesn’t expect the case to go to trial until the middle of next year.
Meanwhile, Timberlake and Biel grabbed headlines with a rare instance of social media PDA. Timberlake shared a photo of him and his wife on Instagram – the first time his wife has been featured on his social media page. The photo, posted on Monday, shows Biel and Timberlake sitting side by side on a bench overlooking a stunning view of New Zealand. Biel joined Timberlake in New Zealand, where Timberlake is currently touring.
