Justin Bieber has released break-up song “Nothing Like Us,” immortalizing his split from Disney star Selena Gomez.

Bieber, releasing his much-anticipated Believe Acoustic album today, revealed that the bonus track is about the emotional breakup between him and Gomez. Choosing to go a different route than contemporary Taylor Swift, instead of bashing his ex in the lyrics, he acknowledges that he’s lost something worth keeping. “Nothing can ever, ever replace you/Nothing can make me feel like you do,” sings the pop star in the new single.

Despite the fact that Bieber insists that the media’s claims that he’s been desperately trying to get back together with Gomez are untrue, he does admit that the time post-breakup hasn’t been a treat. “I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been,” Bieber told Billboard magazine. “I’m trying to get through what I’m going through. I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.”

While Bieber has been rumored to have rebounded with a super model or two, it’s Gomez who seems to be the one really moving on. Just last week, photos of her and Monte Carlo costar Luke Bracey from the summer were released, showing the two to be a bit too close while Gomez was technically still with Bieber. She was also reportedly seen dancing and leaving the Beverly Hills Hotel with Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games, The Kids Are Alright) after the Golden Globes earlier this month.
