Justin Bieber taped his Comedy Central Roast Saturday night with comedians like Kevin Hart, Jeffrey Ross and more taking shots at the 21-year-old singer.
Before the comedians began roasting Bieber, who’s been in the news over the last couple of years more for his off-stage shenanigans than for his music, he took the chance to apologize for his past behavior.
“I’ve turned a lot of people off in the last few years, but I know I can still put out good music and turn everything all around,” Bieber said. “There was really no preparing me for this life. I was thrown into this at 12 years old. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. There were moments I am proud of. And there are moments I am disappointed with myself for. But the things I have done don’t define who I am. I am kind-hearted person who loves people. And through it all, I have lost some of my best qualities. For that, I’m sorry.”
Hannibal Burress called the roast – and likely Bieber’s many visits to The Ellen Show – “an extremely transparent attempt to be more likable in the public eye,” adding, “I hope it doesn’t work.”
“Tonight we’re going to give what his parents and the legal system should have done years ago,” said Kevin Hart, who played in a charity tennis game with Bieber earlier in the week. “We’re going to give this boy an a—whoopin.'”
Rapper and Fast & Furious star Ludicrus noted, “He may have turned 21, but Justin will always be a baby to me. Since babies (urinate) everywhere and never know when to shut up.”
Comedian Jeffrey Ross called Bieber the “King Joffrey of Pop” after the evil Game of Thrones boy king character. Ross also said, “Selena Gomez wanted to be here, but she’s dating men now,” adding, “Is it true you dumped her because she grew a mustache before you?”
Even lifestyle guru Martha Stewart came by, giving him advice for spending time behind bars, which she stated was “inevitable” for him.
At the end of the roast, Bieber tried to get the last laugh, quipping, “I’m going to Vegas. On my jet, b—-.”
