Justin Bieber was caught on camera in a short-lived brawl inside of a Cleveland, Ohio, hotel following Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
A video emerged earlier this week in which Bieber, 22, can be seen lunging at a man and shoving him. When the man pushes the singer back, Bieber starts swinging. His opponent, instead of swinging back, wrestles Bieber down to the ground.
Bieber’s adversary in the skirmish may or may not have been Cleveland resident Lamont Richmond, according to TMZ. Richmond uploaded a video to Facebook on Thursday in which he took credit for getting the best of Bieber, and explained that the pop star lost his temper after being asked for an autograph.
“Yo check, the fool ran up on me. I was with the girls,” Richmond says in the video. “We just asked the d–k for an autograph. I don’t know about all this other stuff you all talkin’ about. I ain’t got nothing else to say.”
As of Friday, however, Richmond has walked back his statements and deleted the video. After receiving death threats and getting fired from his job, he’s claiming that he had been lying in the video.
Incidentally, Bieber has also deleted his initial reaction to news of the fight breaking. He had posted a black and white selfie to Instagram captioned, “Not a scratch on this pretty boy.” An un-captioned selfie still remained.
Last month, Bieber took to Instagram with a note to inform his fans that he did not want to pose for pictures or sign autographs in his free time. From the looks of it, he was pretty serious about it.
