Justin Bieber had to dodge a water bottle hurled at him on stage from a fan, after the singer refused to sing his hit “Despacito.”
Bieber was performing at the Summerburst Festival in Stockholm when the crowd yelled for the singer to perform the Spanish-language track. Previous footage already proved that Bieber did not memorize the Spanish lyrics, and he told the audience, “I can’t do ‘Despacito,’ I don’t even know it. I can’t do the song.”
Moments later, an angry fan threw a water bottle at the singer, who dodged the object with no problem. “Whoa, don’t throw things at me please,” was the singer’s response.
Considering Bieber’s usual reactions to fan antics, his response here was uncharacteristically subdued. His decision not to sing the song, however, was likely a smart move. He attempted to sing the lyrics live last month and failed, inserting random gibberish in place of the Spanish words he was supposed to know.
The song of the summer, a remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s song, features Bieber singing some verses in both English and Spanish.
