Justin Bieber will be charged with misdemeanor vandalism for allegedly egging his neighbor’s home earlier this year.

Justin Bieber Charged

Bieber, 20, escaped a felony charge for the vandalism incident. The singer reportedly will take a plea deal to escape jail time by pleading no contest to the misdemeanor charge at his arraignment in Van Nuys, Calif., Wednesday afternoon. Stipulations of Bieber’s plea include one year of probation and community service. He’ll also be held responsible for paying his neighbors Jeff Schwartz and Suzie Schwartz restitution for damages caused by the egging.

On Jan. 9, Bieber allegedly tossed over a dozen raw eggs at his neighbor’s Calabasas home. The neighbor, who apparently heard the eggs hitting his house, went out on his second floor balcony to see what was causing the commotion. "What the hell are you doing?" the neighbor can be heard yelling in a video obtained by TMZ. "F–k you! I got another one for you, actually!" a voice, which sounds like Bieber’s, is heard replying to the neighbor.

The neighbor called the police while Bieber was still on his property, but retreated to his home before police arrived. Later on in the week, law enforcement officials went to Bieber’s house with a felony search warrant. A minimum of $950 worth of damage needs to occur in order for vandalism to qualify as a felony. Bieber’s neighbors, whose house’s exterior features expensive plaster and imported wood, suffered $10,000 in damages.

"If this isn't a felony, nothing is,” a prosecutor who investigated the incident told the Schwartz family. The family, however, is reportedly happy that at least Bieber is admitting his wrongful act.
