Justin Bieber has canceled his long-awaited Justice World Tour concerts in the US, Europe and Australia.
Bieber has remained silent on the cause of the third disruption to his world tour. He first postponed his performances in June 2022, one month into the tour, after being diagnosed with a rare facial paralysis called Ramsey-Hunt Syndrome. The Canadian singer resumed touring at the end of July, but after just six shows in Europe and one performance at Rock in Rio in Brazil, he alerted fans that he will take a break from touring in released a statement on Twitter, explaining that the performances “took a real toll on” him.
“After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better,” Bieber wrote.
The tour was set to resume this month; however, fans have been informed of its cancelation and Bieber’s website currently displays no upcoming shows.
While the pop singer is yet to comment, Ticketmaster’s website also shows his concerts as canceled.
Fans are expected to get a full refund for their tickets from their point of purchase, however, some had previously complained about not receiving reimbursements for the postponed dates of the now-canceled show. As of now, no official reason has been given for the cancelations.
The disappointing news comes after Bieber reportedly sold the rights to his released music for $200 million last month. Founder and CEO of Hipgnosis Song Management, Merck Mercuriadis, who now owns the rights to the Canadian’s song catalog, believes the acquisition to be ranked “among the biggest deals ever made for an artist under the age of 70.”
While Bieber has remained inactive on social media for the past week, Hailey Bieber celebrated her husband’s birthday on Wednesday by sharing an Instagram post captioned: “29 never looked so good ☺️Happy Birthday to you best friend! Words couldn’t possibly sum up all that you embody. So here’s to more joy, more travel, yummy food, adventures, more peace, fun, and most of all more love. ✨🥳”
