Ray Fisher has called Justice League director Joss Whedon’s behavior “gross” and “abusive” in a confusing turn of events.
On Monday, Fisher tweeted a video of himself from Comic-Con in 2017 where he can be heard praising Whedon who took over direction of the film after the original director, Zack Snyder, stepped down from the role. “Joss is a great guy and Zack picked a good person to come in and finish up for him,” Fisher says in the clip.
However, Fisher captioned his Monday post, “I’d like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement,” with no explanation.
On Wednesday, Fisher tweeted about retracting his positive former comments about Whedon but still left his fans and followers confused. His post read, “Joss Whedon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability>Entertainment”
The actor has not further explained his retraction or why he formerly praised Whedon. Representatives for Whedon, Johns and Warner Bros. have yet to comment on the situation.
