Julianne Hough, who claimed she was swearing off relationships for a bit, appears to have a new boyfriend in NHL star Brooks Laich.

Julianne Hough Dating NHL's Brooks Laich

Hough, 25, and Laich, 30, were first spotted together over the weekend, holding hands while walking around in Los Angeles. On Tuesday, the Dancing With the Stars pro was captured on camera kissing Laich goodbye before he boarded a plane at LAX.

"He's a very nice guy," an insider told E! News about the Washington Capitols player. "She really likes him."

Laich, a native of Canada, opened up about his relationship with Hough when pressed about the photos during his weekly interview on 106.7 The Fan on Wednesday. Unable to deny the evidence of a relationship, Laich decided to share his meet-cute with the Safe Haven star, which came about through his friend Teddy Sears.

"On set [of Curve], apparently, [Sears] was talking with Julianne, and said he had recently just got married—just got back from his honeymoon—and then asked her if she'd been seeing anyone, and she said no or whatever, and I guess he was watching our hockey game at the time," Laich explained. "He always watches the game on Game Center on his iPad. I guess he just showed her the iPad and said, 'Well I've got a guy for you,' or something."

"I guess that was sort of how it started," he continued. "He kept mentioning her name and mentioning her name, eventually we connected. Happy we did."

Laich Says He's A 'Pretty Lucky Guy'

“She's a cool, cool gal,” Laich gushed. “She's just a sweetheart, very loving, very giving. She puts so much great out into the world. I'm a pretty lucky guy."

Laich plans on having Hough in his life for a while. After just a few short months together, he’s already looking towards the future and how they’re going to keep the relationship going with their busy and demanding schedules.

"She's actually at the point right now where she can be pretty flexible with her schedule and ours is going to be intense for the next little bit, but then we'll figure it out," Laich offered. "Then the summer comes and I'll have time to be flexible then, but we'll make it work, we'll figure it out."

Hough's Single Plans Foiled

When Hough gave an interview for an upcoming issue of Self magazine, she claimed that though she always enjoyed being in relationships, she was aiming to stay single for a year.

"I'm a relationship girl, and I feel grateful for the ones I've been in. They've been excellent—I've been hurt but never angry—and they've helped me grow to be who I am today," she explained. "My goal has been to be single for an entire year.… I'm focusing on work and my soul. I honestly don't care if I meet somebody or not. I'm just loving life on my own and with my own two feet on the ground."

Although Hough, who counts American Idol host Ryan Seacrest among her exes, may not have been looking for love, it looks like she found it with Laich.
