Julianna Margulies Chucks Plates At Alan Cumming In New ‘Good Wife’ Teaser

Julianna Margulies and Alan Cumming star in the intense new teaser clip for the return of The Good Wife next month.

At the end of The Good Wife‘s midseason finale, Alicia (Margulies) learns from Eli (Cumming) that he had erased Will Gardner’s (Josh Charles) voicemail in which he confessed his love for. Picking up where that scene ended, the 20-second spot shows that Alicia does a lot more than yell at Eli to get out.

In the teaser trailer, Alicia jumps up from her chair, kicks it to the ground and proceeds to throw plates at Eli’s head before slamming the door shut as he makes a hasty escape.

The midseason premiere episode, titled “Iowa,” will later show Eli joining Ruth (Margo Martindale) on Peter’s (Chris Noth) campaign trail bus. Once the group, which includes Peter and Alicia’s son Zach (Graham Phillips), reaches Iowa, Peter takes a risky gamble in a bid for votes. The episode will feature guest appearances by David Krumholtz, Mo Rocca, and MSNBC political analyst Chris Matthews playing himself.

The Good Wife will return to CBS for the second half of its seventh season Sunday, Jan. 10.
