New York rock band The Strokes recently performed in Vancouver. On March 5, the band, known for such songs as “Reptilia” and “Last Night,” performed in the Canadian city for the first time in over a decade. The band is currently on tour, performing across North and South America, and will commence a European tour starting in June. The tour is to promote the band’s new album, The New Abnormal. This will be The Strokes’ first new album in seven years, following up 2013’s Comedown Machine.

The band, which formed in 1998, still has its original lineup – Julian Casablancas on vocals, Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr. on guitar, Nikolai Fraiture on bass, and Fabrizio Moretti on drums. Casablancas, who is the son of modeling agent John Casablancas and 1965 Miss Sweden Jeanette Christiansen, showed off a retro style at the concert, wearing an open puffy wind-jacket and a graphic tee. The singer also accessorized with large rings on his right hand and styled his hair in a bowl-cut mullet.
