Nancy Motes claims that her half-sister Julia Roberts' repeated bullying over her weight forced her to seek out weight-loss surgery.

Motes, who at her heaviest tipped the scales at 300 pounds, insists that Roberts, the All-American film star, teased her about her size. "When I was in High School and she was an adult, she would just let me know that I was definitely overweight," Motes told the New York Daily News. "She made me feel incredibly hurt and very sad," Motes added.

The 37-year-old Glee production assistant elected to undergo gastric bypass surgery in 2010. Now that she’s down to 155 pounds, Motes hopes that she and Roberts will be able to reconcile – especially since Motes is planning to be married to her longtime boyfriend John Dilbeck in May 2014

“I think we’re both trying to change our opinions of each other,” Motes said. “It’s a work in progress. It’s not going to be fixed overnight, nor do I think it’s going to be fixed at this point by me just getting skinny.” Though Motes acknowledges the rift between her and her sister, she knows that they still love one another.

In addition to her Pretty Woman star sibling, Motes has a couple of others in the business – brother Eric Roberts and sister Lisa Roberts Gillan. Motes attempted to breakout in Hollywood as well, making the move to LA in 1995, but never achieved the success of her siblings. “Julia did not want to see me go down that path,” said Motes. Discouraged, Motes returned to Georgia to live with their mother.

The bullying didn’t stop when the siblings grew older, as Motes recounted a visit in 2010 where her celeb sister allegedly made a mean-spirited dig about her weight. Sick of being disparaged, Motes says she replied with a “F—k you.”

Despite the sibling quarreling, Roberts reportedly helped Motes get her current position on the set of Glee. Motes is hopeful that she and her sister can put the past behind them and that the actress will come see her tie the knot next spring.
