Julia Fox revealed that “parts” of her whirlwind six-week relationship with Kanye West were genuine.
Fox had dumped the rapper, now legally known as Ye, on Valentine’s Day, after seemingly having begun dating sometime on New Year’s Eve. Most believed the relationship to be a publicity stunt, as the two made the most of time in media coverage.
The model described their time together “like a crash course on how to be famous.”
“I mean, there were definitely elements of it that were real,” the Uncut Gems star told the New York Times in a recent interview when asked for the truth about their time together.
Fox divulged that she and West never spoke the words “girlfriend” or “boyfriend” during their time together, despite her declaring last month on the Call Her Daddy podcast that “I call him my boyfriend and he calls me his girlfriend.”
When asked about the rumors that she interviewed for the “job” of being West’s publicity stunt girlfriend, Fox described them as “ridiculous” before going on to basically describe feeling like she was auditioning for that role.
“It definitely felt like I was his girlfriend. But it also felt like I was being cast in the role of his girlfriend — and he was casting me,” she said. “He was the orchestrator of it all. It really did feel like a movie.”
