Prolific TV creator Joss Whedon poorly expressed his anger at the new Donald Trump administration by referring to daughter Ivanka Trump as a dog – specifically, a Pekingese.
In his tweet, Whedon told his followers to watch out for Jared Kushner, Ivanka’s husband, but in doing so made a regrettable reference that has brought him under fire from both sides of the aisle. “Hey, keep your eyes on this f–king prize too,” he wrote, captioning a photo of Kushner. “He’s a Voldemort in training, & unlike the Pekingese he married under, can play the long game.”
It’s unclear why the Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator chose that specific breed, as they are apparently held in high regard, but either way, the liberal showrunner chose poorly.
“Wow calling his wife a dog? I guess it’s OK to demean women as long as you don’t like them or their husbands, eh?” responded one Twitter user. “This from a man who prides himself on being such a great feminist. Unreal,” said another.
