Director Joss Whedon has allegedly made some big changes to the highly anticipated Justice League movie, expected to be released this November.

As per a report from the /Film Daily podcast, Whedon has taken a much heavier hand over the film after being given the directorial duties after the film’s original director, Zack Snyder, left the project to grieve his daughter who passed away in March.

While Whedon was mostly expected to only be in charge of the reshoots and various post-production responsibilities, /Film Daily reports that he went as far as to change the entire ending of the Warner Bros flick.

“Originally this movie is about the Mother Boxes, you know. The bad guys are trying to get the Mother Boxes,” the podcast said. “Steppenwolf is trying to get the Mother Boxes and he’s trying to get the Earth ready for the coming of Darkseid. And the original ending of the movie from what I understand was, he was kind of playing the Silver Surfer role, with Darkseid playing the Galactus role, and the ending of the movie was a cliffhanger and Justice League 2 was going to be Justice League vs Darkseid. You know, Darkseid arrives at Earth.”

“This is a kind of down, dirty ending and from what I understand that has been completely removed. The ending ends the movie like a movie. It doesn’t end on a huge cliffhanger now.”

Whedon’s reshoots got great media attention when he first took the reigns because of the sheer amount of money Warner Bros has pumped into the project.

Coming off the success of Wonder Woman, the Amazonian warrior has gotten a more prominent role under Whedon’s direction and, potentially, at Warner Bros request.

Additionally, Whedon has made the film lighter, both in subject matter and actual in the actual lighting of the film.

Justice League stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
