Josh Gracin, the country singer who placed fourth on American Idol’s second season, is on a 5150 psychiatric hold after posting a worrying message on his Facebook page on Thursday.

Josh Gracin On 5150 Hold After Facebook Post

Gracin, 33, caused his family, friends and fans to panic when he posted the following message about troubles with his wife Ann:

“I've loved her for 17 years … I made mistakes … I admitted them, told her the truth and she turned her back on me when I needed her help the most … I love you all. You have given me the greatest gift. You allowed me to touch your hearts with what I loved to do the most … Please remember me as someone who gave his all in his music … Pray for my family as they carry on in this world without me. Goodbye."

The post led those concerned to put a call into the police, who carried out a welfare check. When police arrived at Gracin’s Spring Hill, Tenn., home, Ann was home, but the singer was not. Fortunately, police were able to get in touch with the former Marine via phone and encourage him to come home, according to TMZ.

After cops intercepted Gracin on his way home, they escorted him to a local hospital where he is being held on a 5150 psychiatric hold. According to Gracin’s manager, the singer is with his family.

“This is Josh's manager, Amy,” the manager tweeted Thursday. “Thank you everyone for your prayers & concern. Josh is safe & with his family now. I promise to update soon.”
