Josh Gad has been tapped to join the growing star-studded cast of Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
Gad will play Le Fou, Gaston’s hapless and humorous sidekick in Beauty and the Beast and is in final negotiations with Disney, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He is the first American actor to join the project.
Gad appeared to confirm the news on Twitter, posting a side-by-side picture of himself and the animated Le Fou striking a similar pose.
Gad was most recently seen alongside Kevin Hart and Kaley Cuoco in The Wedding Ringer. Later this year, he’ll be seen in Pixels with Adam Sandler, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage and Ashley Benson.
As for his voice acting, Gad will be heard in 2016’s Angry Birds feature and will be reprising the part of Olaf in Disney’s Frozen sequel that was announced earlier this week.
Seibert speculated, “If struggle without context is baffling, heaven without struggle isn’t very interesting.”
The shooter was identified to be John R. Lyons, 24, of Westchester, Illinois.
