Joran Van Der Sloot, the Dutchman currently imprisoned for murder, recently became a father for the first time.

Joran Van Der Sloot A Dad

Van der Sloot’s attorney announced the birth of his daughter on Wednesday, reported People. The child, named Dushy after van der Sloot’s grandmother, was born in Lima, Peru on Sunday. The child’s mother is 24-year-old Leidy Figueroa, whom van der Sloot wed in July.

A month after van der Sloot married Figueroa, he was transferred from a Lima prison to one up high in the Andes after he allegedly threatened to kill the warden of the Lima jail. He is serving a 28-year sentence for killing a Peruvian business student in 2010.

While van der Sloot is solely incarcerated for the 2010 murder, he’s also the chief suspect in the 2005 disappearance and probable murder of Natalee Holloway, an American teenager who went missing from Aruba on spring break.
