Joni Mitchell Expected To Make Full Recovery After Stroke & Brian Aneurysm
Joni Mitchell, according to new court documents, has been recovering remarkably after suffering both a stroke and a brain aneurysm earlier this year.
Joni Mitchell’s Recovery
According to Mitchell’s lawyer, Rebecca J. Thyne, she “is expected to make a full recovery.”
Last month, Thyne visited the singer-songwriter at her home, and observed her markedly improved condition. “When I arrived she was seated at her kitchen table feeding herself lunch,” Tyne said.
“She also told me that she receives excellent care from caregivers round-the-clock,” Thyne added. “It was clear that she was happy to be home and that she has made remarkable progress. She has physical therapy each day and is expected to make a full recovery.”
Despite Mitchell’s remarkable recovery, Thyne believes that she should be judged unable to give informed consent regarding her medical treatment, and that it would be in her best interest for her longtime friend Leslie Morris to be officially appointed her conservator. Morris has been acting as Mitchell’s conservator since May.
On March 31, Mitchell was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive at her home. Since her hospitalization, Mitchell’s condition has steadily improved.
