Actors Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have sparked marriage rumors after Majors called her “The Mrs.”
The couple attended the eighth Annual Black and White Gala held by the Congressional Black Caucus on Saturday in Washington, D.C.
A video of the moment was shared on X, formerly Twitter, of the pair speaking on stage with the caption, “So… They actually got married?!!?”
Good started off by announcing, “We’re just so happy to be here with y’all tonight, celebrating us, celebrating the moves we’re making, celebrating the way we love and support each other, the way that we shift the world. Let’s enjoy ourselves!”
She continued, “So many beautiful black faces. I love us, y’all! We are so beautiful! That’s all I got. I’m just happy to be here and I love y’all!” She asked Majors if he wanted “to say anything?”
Majors responded with, “Y’all heard the Mrs., so that’s what it is.”
Since the speech, marriage rumors have been spiraling out of control on social media as fans attempt to find out whether or not the pair actually tied the knot. Neither Majors nor Good has commented on the statement.
Majors’ acting career took off in 2017 with his role as Ken Jones in ABC’s TV series When We Rise. Since then he has starred in Disney+’s Loki as Kang the Conqueror in 2021 and is expected to continue the role for season two.
Good has acted in the films Death Saved My Life and Eve’s Bayou. She was formally married to DeVon Franklin for almost nine years until they two decided to separate in August 2021.
They announced the news in a joint statement on December 2021, writing, “After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.”
Their divorce was only made official in June 2022.
Majors and Good were first spotted together at New York City Criminal Court and, shortly after, it was confirmed that they were dating.
Their appearance in court was after Majors was arrested for physical assault. A 30-year-old woman accused him after they rode in a cab in New York in March. Majors has denied all the allegations against him and claimed that she was a “drunk and hysterical woman.” The actor stated that she stole his phone and spent around $6,000 on his credit card.
Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, stated that she expected that all the charges against him would be dropped as there were “two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations.”
Since then, Majors has been dropped by his talent manager, Entertainment 360, and an ad he was featured in was pulled by the U.S. Army.
