Jonah Hill: The 19th Annual Critics' Choice Awards
Jonah Hill showed off his rap skills covering Drake’s track “Marvin’s Room” at Vice’s 20th Anniversary bash at a Brooklyn venue.
Hill hit the stage Friday night with director Spike Jonze playing guitar behind him. Before he launched into the cover, he pleaded with Drake to be his friend.
“Drake, I sent you a panda emoji, dawg,” Hill said into the microphone. “I thought Drake and I were friends, dawg. I love you Drake. Accept my friendship.”
As for the actual rapping part, Hill admitted he “hated every second of it” to Vulture. He explained,”Spike asked me to do it. It was like a bucket-list thing… I’ll never do that ever again.”
In addition to Hill, the Vice party featured Scarlett Johansson singing New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle,” Jarvis Cocker singing “The Power of Love” by Celine Dion, and the members of Pussy Riot covering Le Tigre’s “Deceptacon.” Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, the Black Lips and others also performed.
