Jojo Siwa Says She Won’t Reconcile With Candace Cameron Bure After ‘Hateful’ Comments
JoJo Siwa said she might not ever talk to Candace Cameron Bure again after the Full House star made some comments about gay marriage.
Bure’s controversial statements were published in a Wall Street Journal interview last week. The 46-year-old said she wants to “keep traditional marriage at the core” of the Great American Family network, which she transitioned to from the more secular Hallmark Channel.
Siwa responded to the remarks, saying Bure’s comments were “rude and hurtful” to the LGBT community. She said she has received support since speaking out about the controversial message.
“We have not [talked] and I don’t think we ever will again,” Siwa said. She encouraged Bure to have a conversation with members of GLAAD.
This comes several months after the feud between the two began with a viral TikTok of Siwa calling Bure the “rudest celebrity” she’d ever met.
The Dance Moms alum acknowledged that she has a platform in the LGBT community and said she wants to “use my platform for something good and change the world for the better.”
“You not liking gay marriage, do your thing girl,” the 19-year-old said. “You being religious, do your thing girl. Of course, I would want everybody to do what they want to do. But to purposely exclude someone because of who they love, that’s sh–ty.”
