JoJo Siwa & Avery Cyrus Split After 3 Months Of Dating

JoJo Siwa and girlfriend Avery Cyrus have broken up months after announcing they were dating back in September. 

In a TikTok video of their Royal Caribbean vacation, Siwa, a Dance Moms alum, appears to tell Cyrus, “This is my ‘Sorry for Breaking Up With You’ present.” 

One fan commented, “Now I just want to know why,” and Avery replied, “We decided that we are better off as friends! We are both so young and still just trying to figure our stuff out!”

On August 5, the former couple first incited romance rumors after they filmed a TikTok video mouthing the words to a voiceover conversation between Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick. The pair continued to appear in each other’s social media posts. 

On September 13, Siwa and Cyrus made their relationship public with a video showing the two sharing a kiss in a Chuck E. Cheese photo booth. 

On a YouTube vlog, Cyrus said, “We’re girlfriends now. I’m so happy you said yes. I knew you weren’t gonna say no, I was just nervous.” 

Siwa replied, “I’d be insane if I said no, you’re the best girlfriend in the world.”

The pair’s split comes months after Siwa announced her breakup from Kylie Prew earlier this year. 

In January 2021, Siwa came out as LGBTQ after lipsynching Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” while wearing a shirt with “Best Gay Cousin Ever” on it. 

“But like, I don’t know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool,” Siwa told People, noting that she doesn’t want to give herself any labels.

Siwa added that she didn’t want her coming out to be a big deal. “My thing is, I don’t want people to watch my videos or buy my merchandise if they aren’t going to support not only me, but the LGBTQ community,” she said.
