Johnny Depp Says Ex Amber Heard Abused Him Like His ‘Mother’ In Defamation Lawsuit

In a filmed testimony from the stand of a court in Fairfax County, Virginia, that began Tuesday and continues onto Wednesday, the actor Johnny Depp maintained his denial of horrific abuse allegations levied against him by ex-wife Amber Heard.

He first sued Heard when she wrote about experiencing abuse in a Washington Post op-ed that did not name him, but he argues he has since been hit with financial losses from its release, including being fired from the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise. Depp seeks $50 million in damages, and Heard has countersued him.

“Never did I myself reach the point of striking Ms. Heard in any way, nor have I ever struck any woman in my life,” Depp said at the top of his remarks, and also added, “My goal is the truth.”

“One day you’re Cinderella and then in 0.6 seconds you’re Quasimodo,” said Depp of the storm that occurred after his accusations were revealed. “I didn’t deserve that and nor did my children, nor did the people who had believed in me all these years.”

He also accused Heard of being demeaning and verbally abusive to him and also repeated a claim he’s made that Heard once severed his finger after throwing a vodka bottle at him. He also compared alleged treatment at the hands of Heard to the abuse he sustained from his mother as a boy, saying, “You slowly realize you’re in a relationship with your mother, in a sense,” Depp bizarrely said Wednesday.

Depp also claimed that Heard frequently insulted his tattoos while also insisting he should get one of her own name and implied she might commit suicide so it “lives in the back of your brain,” in case he considered leaving her. He said, in general, that Heard was “too good to be true.”

Heard posted a statement leading into the trial on April 9, in which she said, “I wrote about the price women pay for speaking out against men in power. I continue to pay that price, but hopefully, when this case concludes, I can move on, and so can Johnny.” She is seeking $100 million in her ongoing countersuit against Depp.
