Johnny Depp joined Instagram earlier this month to connect with fans during this time of social isolation, sharing a song and a supportive message, but his newest video has viewers laughing out loud.
The four-minute video posted on Thursday has 2 million views, and shows Depp sitting down at a desk. It appears that he’s going to do some work, but then he instead shuffles cards, plays with his desk, and folds up a napkin. In the end, he folds the napkin into a bra and pops it on his chest.
“A little something I’ve been working on whilst being a responsible quarantinor, quarantining,” the caption said. “Thank you all for stopping by. See you soon.”
In the first video he posted to the social media site, Depp explained that he never thought he would want to join social media, until now.
“And I know for the moment it feels like both of our hands are tied behind our backs, and to some degree they are,” Depp said in the eight-minute clip. “But our minds are unbound, and our hearts are not chained, and we can care, and through caring we can help each other and we will prevail.”
He goes on to say: “Now is the time to open up a dialogue, as the threat of this invisible enemy has already caused immeasurable tragedies and damage to people’s lives.”
At the end of the video he plugs his cover of a song he worked on last year with Jeff Beck: “Isolation” by John Lennon.
“The song’s about isolation, fear, and the existential risk to our world, so we wanted to give the song to you,” he said. “We truly both hope in our own little way, it helps you get through these unusual times that we’re experiencing, even if it just helps to pass the time as we endure isolation together.”
That video also seemed to be a hit with fans, garnering 2.8 million views, and more than 900,000 likes. Listen below:
