Johnny Depp May Face Perjury Charges In Australia, According To Deputy Prime Minister
Johnny Depp‘s ex-lawyers claim that he still owes them $350,000.
In 2017, Johnny Depp hired the law firm Buckley LLP to help him sue his former entertainment law firm, Bloom Hergott LLP, which he accused of having pocketed $30 million in fees without a written agreement. Three Buckley attorneys – Franklin Levin, Michael Rome, and Ali Abugheida – worked on the case until January 2019. Depp is currently represented by attorneys from Brown Rudnick LLP.
The case is set for trial in September.
According to court papers, Buckley LLP had billed him a total of $535,697.28, which represents a 10% decrease in price on the firm’s hourly rate, but Depp has only paid $187,717.39, which leaves him of a balance of exactly $347,979.89.

The lawsuit states that Depp’s representatives notified Buckley LLP in January 2019 and that he intended to pay the remainder of the balance in the first quarter of 2019. The suit stated, “Plaintiff received further assurances regarding payment from Depp’s agents, most recently with promises to pay the amount owed in full by mid-May.” However, now May 21, the promise has gone unfulfilled.
Depp and his representatives have not yet commented.
