John Travolta’s ‘Gotti’ Scores 0 Percent On Rotten Tomatoes, Many Fans Disagree With Critics

Most everyone’s go-to movie reviewer is Rotten Tomatoes, and for good reason. John Travolta‘s latest movie, Gotti, scored zero percent on the website. Additionally, other publications definitely weren’t fans of the movie, which released on June 15.

Travolta adds Gotti as the fourth movie in his credits that scored a goose egg on the movie reviewing website. Life on the Line from 2016, Look Who’s Talking Now from 1993 and Staying Alive, which came out in 1983 also received a score of zero percent.

Currently, there are only 20 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes for Gotti, so the film does have a chance for a turnaround. However, harsh reviews from top critics may have already ruined the new movie’s reputation.

Johnny Oleksinski of the New York Post said, “I’d rather wake up next to a severed horse head than ever watch Gotti again.”

Peter Travers of the Rolling Stone called Travolta out for even accepting the roll, saying the film won’t be receiving any decent reviews.

“Starring in this mobster biopic that deserves to get whacked is an offer Travolta should have refused. Insane testimonials from Gotti supporters at the end are as close as this sh––show will ever get to good reviews”

Critics such as Brian Orndorf of Blue-ray.com questioned why established producers let the movie turn out so horribly:

“There are 44 credited producers on the picture (good. lord.), and not one person had the nerve to question just what kind of derivative, borderline nonsensical film was being made.”

On the other hand, many regular audience members favored the movie.

One user on Rotten Tomatoes said, “This film was fantastic. It was not only accurate but showed all side of who John Gotti was as a man, a father, a friend and a mob boss. I would highly recommend this film, and Travolta was incredible.”

Another individual advised others to ignore the critics, for they thought the biopic was a heartfelt film.

“John Travolta great as the dapper don. Film is a cross between a documentary, biography and mafia crime drama. Interesting. Emotional at times seeing the bond between father and son. Go and see it with an open mind, don’t be influenced by what the critics would like this film to be, be ready to see a film from a loving sons point of view about his father and his family.”

“I loved everything about this movie. The acting and the music. All of these critics giving it a bad review is all FAKE NEWS. GOTTI GOTTI GOTTI,” another user wrote.

Ultimately, it’s up to you to make your own decision. Will you side with the critics or many of the audience members?
