Musician John Mayer has been hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy.

JOHN MAYER HOSPITALIZED FOR APPENDECTOMY

A rep for the Grammy-winning artist said that Mayer was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday morning. He was previously scheduled to perform a show in New Orleans with the Dead & Company, but that date has now been postponed. Tickets for the show can either be refunded or used for the rescheduled date.

“Early this morning, Tuesday, December 5th, John Mayer was admitted into the hospital for emergency appendectomy forcing the Dead & Company December 5th concert in New Orleans to be postponed,” tweeted out the Dead & Company account.

Mayer had performed with the Dead & Company, the Grateful Dead tribute band, on Sunday, and continues to rock with them at various concerts. The band’s next scheduled concert is Dec. 7 in Florida, and the band has not said if it will go on as planned or postpone.
