John Legend’s Doppelganger, Talakai, Basks In The Glow Of His Famous Lookalike On ‘The Voice’

John Legend recently met his doppelganger, 34-year-old Talakai, during an episode of The Voice.

Legend, a veteran of the show, was pleasantly surprised when he turned his chair around to find a familiar face looking back at him.

Legend even cracked a smile as he watched the performance.

Talakai, for his part, is enjoying the extra attention.

He told local TV station KCRA 3 that it felt like a family member was looking back at him, and had to “contain” himself to get through the whole song.

Talakai said that even at school and work, people would tell he looked like Legend, even having people sing some of his songs as he walked by.

They were not the only ones who noticed the resemblance.

Once all the other judges saw him clearly, they had to remark on the uncanny similarities.

Gwen Stefani, one of the four judges, laughed and said the resemblance was “crazy.”

Talakai said that he remained hopeful that Legend would be one of the judges to turn for him and was grateful that he did.

After only a few seconds into his Blind Audition song, Legend was even the first to turn his chair because he “really liked the richness” in his voice.

He was not the only one.

Reba McEntire, who also turned around for him, said that she knows she has “no chance” against his look-alike but connected with his voice and would love to have her on her team.

Although not all judges turned their chairs for him, they all remarked on his talent.

However, they did not leave him without a few notes.

After Talakai finished his rendition of “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith, Naill Horan said that despite his great voice, he could not connect emotionally to him. It was even harder for the singer since Smith is a really good friend and knows how much the song means to them.

As Talakai deliberated over his choice, Stefani reminded him that he would learn a lot no matter the choice. As Horan asked him one last time who his pick was, Legend tempted him by telling him they were “family” while gesturing him over.

Ultimately, Talakai ended up choosing Team Legend. The two took a picture at the end of Talakai’s segment to capture the moment and share it on social media.
